In my journey to my current life of wellness and health I came to a stark realization, there’s no one out there holistically addressing how to achieve wellness. Let me explain. True health and wellness is supported by three pillars; nutrition, activity/exercise, and mind/body balance. Without addressing and finding your balance within all three of these pillars, you cannot achieve true long term health and wellness. There are plenty of programs that address one of the three pillars, sometimes two, but I have yet to come across a program that addresses all three pillars simultaneously to help you find your personal balance. Also, as much as we all have similar DNA, we are all different in our own ways, and cookie cutter programs that don’t address your life, and your personal situation, your individual nutritional tastes and needs, won’t work long term for most people. You might lose some weight short term, you might feel better in the short term, but eventually, when you relapse, when you fall off the wagon and don’t know how to get back on, those cookie cutter programs won’t help.
The medical industry understands the incredible medical benefits of weight reduction, proper nutrition, and proper life balance. “Preventive” medicine is now a popular catch phrase in the medical industry. Health insurance companies are now starting to embrace the idea of rewarding customers for taking care of themselves and taking positive steps to get healthy. It makes sense, the healthier you are the less you will have to use their product (health insurance), the more money they will make. It doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference. A 10% reduction in body weight has a tremendous effect on reducing type 2 diabetes and other lifestyle induced metabolic diseases.
So how do you achieve that balance and find your path to true health and wellness? It’s not easy, I know because I’ve been there. Sometimes you find yourself at the bottom of this pit of despair and can’t see any way out. I found my way out, and I want to help you get there also. Fortunately health and wellness have become my passion, and I have created my Mercadante Health Coaching 4 Month Wellness Program. My program is very hands on, and quite intensive, but when you’re done you will be well on your way to long term health and wellness. No two people are the same, so I will find out who you are and what makes you tick. I spend time learning about your life, your habits, your exercise and activity levels, your nutrition, your stressors, your sleeping habits, and anything else that affects your health. We work together to produce realistic long term goals, and then create a plan to achieve those goals. This program combines behaviour modification interventions in the areas of nutrition, exercise, and life balance that are personalized to your needs. My goal is that by the time we are done, you will be back on that path of health and wellness and will no longer need my guidance.
